InnoRenew CoE and the University of Primorska will host Woodrise 2022 in Portorož, Slovenia, from 6–9 September 2022. Over 1000 international participants will come together to hear from expert practitioners, research scientists, and policymakers about taller wooden buildings and mass timber construction.

The event will showcase the renovation, restoration, and rehabilitation of urban buildings using wood-based technologies and highlight timber engineering and architecture practices to promote the global construction sector's sustainable development and transformation.

Woodrise 2022 will be held at the nexus of three cultures, where the forests of the east meet the construction technologies of the west. We invite you to join with fellow timber innovators, developers, and designers on the Adriatic coast for four days of knowledge, tours, and Mediterranean hospitality.

Woodrise 2022 takes place under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor.

You are welcome to submit an abstract for the Woodrise 2022 technical sessions. Contributions should focus on multistory timber construction or renovation of existing buildings using wood-based technologies. Please indicate the subtopic that best relates to your submission: renovation, seismic, wind, resources, acoustics, durability, sustainability, human health, digitalization, or fire. The deadline for contributions is 31 May 2022. Decisions for acceptance will be announced on 15 June 2022.
